HYDRA PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL


 GUIDELINES


Performances must be no more than 80 minutes in length and performed without an intermission.

Technical rehearsals occur the night before the assigned performance date.

Language of performance: English and/or Greek are preferable, but performances in other languages are included if suitable.

Inclusion of music/song and/or dance is recommended to enhance text as you will be performing to an international audience

In your application, please outline your proposed production. Include a synopsis, the length, cast size and technical requirements. 


VENUE SPECIFICATIONS

 

HYDRAMA is an outdoor amphitheatre with tiered stone seating for approximately 250 people. Additional seating on chairs, cushions or rocks used when needed.

 

Performance area: The main stage is 12 m wide x 10 m deep. (39 x 32 ft.) The floor is hard tile.  A portable sprung dance floor measuring a maximum 8 x 6 meters can be placed on the main stage if requested for specialized dance performances. 

 

Auxiliary performance areas:  There are various small areas off the main stage which can be lit and utilized during performances.These include the windows, door and balcony of the building behind stage; a raised wooden platform off - stage right; and areas above and behind the audience.

Lighting: 14 stage lights onsite (6 x CE Source Four jr Zoom & 8 x Stage Spot 500 Fresnel), operated through a Pulsar lighting desk (6 Channel x 10 AMP)

 

Sound System: Yamaha MG124C 12 Input Stereo Mixer. All sound cues are run from a computer or CD through the system. Passive Speakers output 350/700w,. Stand, hand held, remote microphones.

 

Front projector available for digital backdrop /screen and surtitles as required.

 

Technical Assistance: Sound and light technicians, who are bilingual in Greek & English, are available on-site for dress rehearsals and performances.  . 

 

Musical Instruments: Electric keyboard, guitars, and a variety of percussion instruments (including snare drum) are available on site.

Additional instruments or equipment can be hired with a month’s advance notice

 

Props/Wardrobe:  A good selection of stage props and costumes are available on-site.

 

Ancillary Facilities:

Dance studio: Measuring 10 x 7 metres with sprung dance floor.

Rehearsal Studio: Measuring 9 x 6 metres with wooden floor.
